The Lowry Trail Berwick-Upon-Tweed, sculptural easels made by Jason Sweeney

LS Lowry was inspired to create some of his finest paintings and drawings during his visits to Berwick-Upon-Tweed in the 1930s until his death in 1976.  The Lowry Trail celebrates these works and the landscape that inspired them with details and representations of his paintings and drawings mounted onto sculptural replicas of Lowry's own easel.

Special permission was given to Jason by the Lowry family to view and catalogue LS Lowry's easel at The Lowry Art Centre during his research for this project.

Commissioned by the Berwick-Upon-Tweed Preservation Trust there are eighteen sites creating a trail around Berwick, Tweedmouth and Spittal, Northumberland.
